1. In what ways does your product develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
- Our thriller opening sequence challenged the form of other psychological thrillers as we subverted the conventions. When we looked at psychological thrillers like" Fight Club" and " Seven" we noticed that the non- diegetic music would build up throughout. However we decided to subvert this as our music begun with a very calm to tone which allowed the audience to question the innoncece of our protagonist.
· However we also adhered to the forms of real psychological thrillers as typically the first two minutes of the opening sequences lacked in dialogue. An example of this is the opening sequnce to Alfred Hitchcook's " Rear Window" which uses non- diegetic sound to hint the narrative and introudce the main character to the audience.
· The title of our thriller " Wrath" develops the conventions of psychological thrillers as its name in which allows the audiecne to question the narrative. Furthermore we used " Wrath" as it means anger which allows the audience to question the anger of our main charcter and wonder weather the character anger leads to her naurotic actions.
Through the use of shot composition we were able to emphasise the disturbed nature main character. This is a typical convention of psychological thrillers. We used close- ups and mid- shots to exemplify to the audience how isolated she was but also to illustrate her neurotic behaviour.
